GTU’s Department of Architecture Takes Action To Improve Eco-Tourism in Cappadocia

Junior (third year) architecture students from the Department of Architecture at GTU were recently in Cappadocia in order to improve their skills for discovering, understanding and analyzing design problems related to the concepts of space, environment and place. They examined the environment in Ortahisar under the Architectural Design Studio 5, “Cappadocia GEOFOLD”, to improve eco-tourism with an innovative approach. They conducted examinations to understand the macro and micro design scale, settlement decisions, neighborhood relations, structures, forms of building technologies, concepts of meaning, identity and place, environmental factors as parameters for design and so on, and chatted with the locals there.
