In the speeches he made during the sessions, Prof. Haluk Görgün stated that he is aware that the students have recently come out of a marathon to study at a privileged university and that GTU is the exactly that place, with its social and academic opportunities that will help the students leave behind the stress of the marathon. Görgün also reminded the students that nearly half of the GTU students are able to find jobs even before they graduate and that GTU has provided and will continue to provide administrative, legal and financial support to its students who are willing to start their own business.

Following Prof. Görgün, Şermin Keleşoğlu provided students with information on the student affairs information system, registration, course selection and the grading system. After Keleşoğlu, Prof. Işıl Kurnaz took the floor and introduced the study abroad opportunities and the actitivities of the GTU International Relations Office. The program ended with Hamit Yıldırım's talk about the social facilities at GTU. Students then toured the photography exhibition “Turkish Divers Club Marmara Underworld Photographs" that opened in the building hall, and later on, had fun time outdoors at the barbecue party given in their honor.
