Damla Project To Raise Awareness

Awareness events conducted by voluntary female students under the Damla (Drops) Project organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkish Republic started in the city of Kocaeli. The volunteers recently came together with Prof. Haluk Görgün, Rector, GTU at a lunch.

The awareness events, conducted by 20 female university students from different cities who have come together on the occasion of the project, started with a busy agenda. The project team, of which the GTU Damla Community is a member, visited GTU and met with Professor Haluk Görgün at lunch. The team provided the Professor with information on the events conducted within the scope of the project. Team members have already completed some events in the region and they will go on with activities for one week including visiting the nursing homes, coming together with the community, painting the school walls, spending quality time with the disadvantaged children, visiting the martyrs’ families and the martyrs’ cemeteries, visiting the mosques, visiting the historical and cultural sights and the authorities of the region, and cleaning the environment.
