GTU and Teknopark İstanbul sign collaboration protocol

Another important step has been taken to increase university-industry collaboration by supporting R&D activities, innovation, and technological production. GTU, the base for science and technology, and Teknopark İstanbul, one of the most significant innovation centers in Turkey, have signed a collaboration protocol.

The protocol between GTU and Teknopark İstanbul was signed on August 2, 2017 in Teknopark Istanbul’s Turgut Özal Meeting Hall by Professor Haluk Görgün, GTU Rector, and M. Bilal Macit, the General Director to Teknopark İstanbul.

Under the protocol, GTU and Teknopark İstanbul will engage in mutual activities such as projects, matchups, receiving of intellectual property rights, entrepreneurship, and innovation assessments. The protocol includes the increase of collaboration and information exchange, and sharing of the pool of experts between the parties; increase in qualifications of the personnel of both parties; mutual support for meeting the demands coming from both parties’ regions; and the conducting of activities with mutual communication. GTU students will also take advantage of the protocol, which aims to increase mutual benefit in terms of university-industry collaboration and technology transfer. Within this scope, Teknopark İstanbul will give priority to GTU students for TeknoStaj programs.
