Energy Based Design Workshop Held in Istanbul

Energy Based Design Research Group, of which Assistant Proffessor Ahmet Anıl Dindar, Deputy Head of Department and Faculty Member at GTU Civil Engineering Department is a member, organized “Energy Based Structural Analysis and Sensing” Workshop. The workshop was held at Boğaziçi University and Istanbul Technical University between 10 - 14 July 2017 with the collaboration of researchers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boğaziçi University (BU), and Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The workshop’s aim was to “further develop energy-based design (EBD) concepts through comprehensive experimental studies using novel data acquisition and data processing techniques, as a basis to provide design recommendations for new structures with better earthquake hazards resistance” and its focus was to “provide novel, non-invasive and cost effective solution for researchers and practicing engineers” in the event of the successful development and implementation of this approach.
