GTU KAGEM Organizes Three New Events

GTU’s Career Development Center (KAGEM), established with the aim of keeping GTU students updated on internship and job opportunities, keeping the deeply-rooted bond with the alumni alive, and building a bridge between employers and applicants, recently organized three important events.

FIELD TRIP TO TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE (TURKISH MANAGEMENT SCIENCES INSTITUTE)

In the first event, organized jointly by KAGEM and TÜSSİDE, the students took a field trip to TÜBİTAK TÜSSİDE.

As part of this event, the students were given seminars by two Techno-entrepreneurs, Salih Kükrek (founder of SANLAB Simulation) and Yücel Saykal (founder of Saykal Electronics), who were previously sent by TÜSSİDE to Silicon Valley, and they had the chance to get to know TÜSSİDE better and find out about the dynamics of entrepreneurship.

At the end of the event, the students were presented with a certificate of participation and small gifts.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT CRYOCAN

In the second event, organized with the aim of bringing companies and students together to create internship opportunities for the students, the Cryocan company visited GTU and introduced its operations, explaining its expectations from the students as to the internship period. Sonay Tünay, HR Manager of Cryocan, was present and the students sent their CVs to the company as part of the event, gaining priority for long-term internships.

TECHNICAL TRIP TO SANTA FARMA PHARMACEUTICALS

In another event organized by GTU KAGEM, the reputable pharmaceuticals company Santa Farma’s production and R&D facilities in Dilovası/Kocaeli were visited by GTU students. A presentation was made to the students by the senior officials of the factory, describing Santa Farma factory’s history and operational procedures. The students, wearing special costumes, were then admitted into the production area and informed about the production of drugs. This way, they had the chance to see drug production in practice and on site. Their questions related to the subject were answered and they were also guided on how to apply for internship.
