Youth Speak Forum was held at GTU

With the collaboration of GTU International Students and Organizations Committee and the Kocaeli branch of the world’s largest student organization AIESEC, the Youth Speak Forum was held in the conference hall at the Faculty of Architecture.

The Forum is held in 127 countries in the world and its second edition was hosted by Gebze Technical University in Turkey. In the Forum, the 17 sustainable development goals as defined by the UN in 2015 were discussed and opinions on how the youth can contribute to the solutions of the world’s problems and how they can improve themselves were exchanged.

GTU Assistant Secretary General Mevlüdiye Güzel and AIESEC Kocaeli Advisory Board Member Özlem Karakuş, who gave the opening speeches, expressed their appreciation for GTU and AIESEC collaboration and stated that the students may join the events organized, visit companies for internship opportunities, take advantage of AIESEC’s international opportunities, and have support from the GTU administration and faculty on any issue in the meantime.

Sedaş team and HR Manager, GOSB Teknopark Manager Emre Aksan (PhD), cimri.com CEO Serkan Koç, and many students attended the Forum. Company representatives from MAKERSAN and Hexagon Studio also opened booths at the fair and accepted internship and job applications.

In the draw at the end of the Forum, 3 students won the Global Volunteer prize while 2 students won the Global Entrepreneur prize.
