Scientists met at GEN

Worldwide work on molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology and bioengineering was presented to the students at GEN Conference, which organized by IEEE GTU EMBS.

Gebze Technical University in this year's GEN Conference held by IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), many successful scientists came together in the field. GEN Conference was held at GTU Electronics Building Conference Hall. The conference started with the opening speech of Rector of GTU Prof. Haluk Görgün. First session started with Asst. Prof. Ayşe Koca Çaydaşı's speech the title of "What we learned from the bread yeast". Respectively in ongoing sessions of the day; "A new approach to the treatment of metastatic cancers", "Zebra Fish", "Neurogenesis During Tissue Maintenance and Repair" and "Virtual Scans of Small Molecular Data Banks" subjects were shared information and experiences by Asst. Prof. Salih Gencer, Assoc. Prof. Güneş Özhan, Assoc. Prof. Stefan H. Fuss and Assoc. Serdar Durdağı.  The last session of the day was held by Prof. Türker Kılıç, the dean of Bahcesehir University Faculty of Medicine, with a speech on "3 Scientific Works of Importance that can Change Our Life Perception".

CERTIFICATES WERE GIVEN TO PARTICIPANTS

On the 2nd day of the event, respectively "Development of Personalized Treatments in Cancer", "Protease Inhibition in Cancer Therapy", "Bioinformatics in the Time of Personal Medicine", "What happens in the cancer stem cell?" and "Bioinformatics and Epigenetics" subjects were transfered information and experiences by Assoc. Prof. Ali Osmay Güre, Assoc. Prof. Betül Karademir, PhD. Ahmet Sinan Yavuz and Asst. Prof. Selçuk Sözer Tokdemir and Prof. Uğur Sezerman. The last session of the 2nd day "The Role of CCDC124 Protein in the Separation of Splitting Cells" was by Chair of GTU Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Prof. Uygar Halis Tazebay has realized. At the end of each session, they were presented plaques with specially prepared for each speaker and certificates were given to participants.
