Checkmate

The "2017 GTU Individual Chess Tournament" was organized by the contributions of Turkish Chess Federation Kocaeli Provincial Representation and the Provincial Directorate of Kocaeli Youth Services.

Academic, administrative staff and students attended   the chess tournament held at Prof. Ahmet Ayhan Sports Hall where is at Gebze Technical University (GTU) Campus. Licenses of all sporters participating in the first round of the tournament recorded by the referees and observers of the Federation were got. 31 sporters who have completed their preparations at GTU Chess Study Hall have displayed a fierce competition for 4 days. In end of the tournament it was awarded trophies for the top three, and medals and surprise gifts for the top ten. On the tournament it became the 1^th Yasin Şale, the 2^nd Mehmed Mustafa, the 3^rd Doğan Erbahar, the 4^th Nursyerik Syeil, 5^th Ahmet Denizli, 6^th Kerem Düzenli, 7^th Ahmet Parlak, 8^th Lweendo Kelvin Moonga, 9^th Abdurahim Yousuf, 10^th Ayşegül Halamoğlu. Students and staff who received their licenses gained the right to represent GTU in national and international competitions.
