One of the 100 Most Successful Startups is from GTU

GTU faculty members made an important achievement by entering into "100 Most Successful Startups in Turkey" list with their company named PHI Tech Bioinformatics.

The list of "Turkey's 100 Most Successful Startups" was announced by Bizz Consulting organized this year for the second time with sponsorship of Zorlu Holding, Turkish Economy Bank and Yiğit IDK Group; with supports of TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Board, Endeavor Turkey and Startup Magazine.

"PHI Tech Bioinformatics", founded by Gebze Technical University (GTU) Bioengineering Department Teaching Members Asst. Prof. Saliha Durmuş, Asst. Prof. Tunahan Çakır and Assoc. Prof. Erdoğan Sevilgen from Department of Computer Engineering, also took place on the list. The Startup 100 List was created in order to support the entrepreneurship ecosystem, to promote successful examples and to encourage innovation, in Turkey, aiming to create a great resource for venture capital companies from angel investors and from banks. The list was determined by the jury with the contributions of the industry's leading 62 names.

PHI Tech Bioinformatics is a company that offers bioinformatics solutions that require special expertise such as "personalized medicine" and "preventive medicine". PHI Tech develops software that processes large-scale patient data (such as DNA sequences) and supports effective diagnosis and treatment. The company continues its activities in TÜBİTAK Marmara Technocity.
