A New Journey to Europe

GTU has been awarded accreditation from the European Union Ministry to support the voluntary activities of young people. Within the scope of the European Voluntary Service (EVS), GTU became the first Accreditation Organization of Gebze and the third of Kocaeli.

Gebze Technical University (GTU), applied for the accreditation of "Youth Voluntary Organizations" in the scope of the Ministry of EU Affairs Erasmus + Youth Program and became an accredited institution by the decision of the Accreditation Committee of the Ministry of the European Union. With the decision, participation of young people in various forms of voluntary activities inside and outside the European Union will be supported, and young people will be provided with free or non-profit activities.

GTU students will be able to improve their language and communication skills by participating in voluntary activities up to 1 year in Europe, regardless of graduation and language proficiency. In this way, young people who learn a new language will be able to increase their intercultural communication skills, learn strategies of working and communicating in a new environment they do not know, and diversify their choices in the labor market with confidence they gain when they return to the country. Participation in the EVS program is free. Mobility costs (accommodation, meals, insurance and allowance) will be covered by the National Agencies under the European Grant Program. EVS projects will be followed by GTU International Relations Office.
