GEBZE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY RECTOR PROF. HALUK GÖRGÜN;

"Do not lose your faith into the future"

Gebze Technical University students are taken the first course from Rector Prof. Haluk Görgün. Addressing to GTU students, "Never lose your faith in your country, your university and your your future, and never lose your confidence in yourself," he said.

Gebze Technical University opened its gate with 2016-2017 Academic Year Orientation Program and started lessons. Students in the program informed in various topics at Prof. Ahmet Ayhan Indoor Sports Hall on the first day. GTU Rector Prof. Haluk Görgün, Vice Rector Prof. Babür Özcelik, Deputy Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Abdurrahman Akyol, Technology Transfer Office Manager Abdurrahman Güngör, faculty members and students joined.

Görgün Gave Good News

To students in the program spoken of the privilege of being a student at GTU by Rector Prof. Haluk Görgün, and given the good news about GTU’s being in the top 5 at Turkey's top universities list which known as URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance). GTU continued to rise as every year, besides in the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index our University upgraded from 11th to 7th Gorgun said. Lastly expressing GTU’s role as a partner for Turkey’s Silicon Valley's 27 per cent, Görgün said they will contribute greatly to employment adding that they will open an incubation center in Silicon Valley in the US. Also university's cultural center and dormitories would soon begin the construction.

Rector Prof. Görgün, in his speech, gave the following statement: “Taking advantage of the privilege of being in college, you should evaluate the offered educational opportunities in an efficient manner and at the verge of transition to 

efficient manner and at the verge of transition to a knowledge society, you should also draw your own route responsibly. GTU, your university always will be on your side to support you. As a student at Gebze Technical University; never lose your faith in your country, college, your future and your confidence .Do not skimp the power, privilege and happiness of being student at Gebze Technical University from your heart.

CAMPUS PRESENTATION WAS HELD
Right after the Rector’s speech students was informed about the registration, course selection, the grading system by Head of GTU Student Affairs Department Şermin Keleşoğlu, about abroad educational opportunities by Erasmus Coordinator Prof. Işıl Kurnaz, the university's social opportunities by Head of Health, Culture and Sport Department Hamit Yıldırım, about students clubs by Deputy of Students Clubs Yılmaz Sülek, about preparatory classes by Foreign Languages Coordinator Instructor Oğuzhan Bozoğlu, and lastly about sport activities by Murat Çetinkaya. Students had the opportunity through the program to find answers to the questions in their heads.
