Graduation Ceremony Held at GTU

Gebze Technical University 2015 – 2016 academic year ended with the Graduation Ceremony which took place at university festival area on June 28th.

Guests from Gebze’s and Kocaeli’s top – level officers, all the GTU academic staff and graduaters along with their families gathered to join enthusiasm of students. The program of the ceremony included the speeches, declaring graduaters who rank first in their departments, presentation gifts, oath and cap throwing.

Kocaeli Governor Hasan Basri Güzeloğlu expressed his pleasure to attend the ceremony and said, “You have been educated in the best way and I believe you will contribute to this country’s future. I congratulate your parents and teachers as they made great efforts to make you ready for this long journey. I’m proud of you all in behalf of my country and wishing you the best.”

Rector Prof. Haluk Görgün wished success to all graduaters and said, “Education you having been provided must be updated with current knowledge and adapted to the new age and used for making our country exist among the modern countries pointed by Atatürk. My signature and Dean’s signature are on your graduation certificate but remember there are also invisible signatures of your parents on it. I want to thank them for growing up young promising people like you and finally, never break your connections with Gebze Technical University. This isn’t a farewell day for you but rather, you have strengthen your relationship with our university.

Among the graduaters, there was the Head Official of Gebze, Mehmet Arslan who graduated from a Master programme at our university and he was awarded his certificate by his wife Emine Arslan.

After the oath and cap throwing, the ceremony ended. The students and their families were serviced fast-breaking dinner after ceremony as guests of GTU.
