Workshop on Sustainable Production of Biobased Materials Held at GTU

A workshop titled "Sustainable Production of Biobased, Functional Food/Animal Feed Additives and Excipients in the Age of Bioeconomy" was held by Gebze Technical University Institute of Biotechnology Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge İşleten-Hoşoğlu and the TÜBİTAK 1001 project team numbered 218M389 under the coordination of GTU Technology Transfer Office Inc. The workshop was held at the Institute of Biotechnology on 23-24 January 2023 with the participation of sector representatives working in different sectors and researchers from various departments of universities.

The first day of the workshop started with the design process in bioprocesses, and the issues that should be considered in the innovative and functional product development process were discussed. In the first session of the second day of the event, production preparation practices in bioreactors were carried out based on the core principles of the bioprocess development process. In the second session, the core principles of sensory evaluation were explained and activities were held on the applications of descriptive sensory analysis techniques that can be used for an innovative product.
