Our Project Success

Within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1003 Priority Areas R&D Support Program, for the first time in 2022, TÜBİTAK and TAGEM made a joint call on Agricultural Research.

The project application titled "Creation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungus-Bacteria Consortiums with Native Isolates, Development of Solid and Liquid Formulations and Investigation of Their Efficiency as Microbial Fertilizer" prepared in cooperation with Gebze Technical University and Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute was accepted.

From the Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute of TAGEM, Dr. Dilek Kaya ÖZDOĞAN, the director of the project on our university side, Deputy Director of Biotechnology Institute Dr. Instructor Its member Ümit Barış KUTMAN and its researchers are Dr. from the Biotechnology Institute. Instructor Member Bahar YILDIZ KUTMAN and Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Murat DOĞRU.

In the project, beneficial microorganisms isolated from different regions of our country will be brought together for the first time to form consortia containing both mycorrhizal fungi and bacteria at the same time. Solid and liquid formulations of these consortia, which can be evaluated in different application methods, will be developed, biochar will also be used for formulations, and the effectiveness tests of the product candidates to be obtained will be carried out on plants. At the end of this interdisciplinary study, which will be carried out in a wide range from plant biotechnology to plant nutrition, from microbiology to plant physiology, from chemistry to environmental engineering, it is aimed to reveal prototypes of microbial product candidates with high commercialization potential as output.
