Where can I get my e-mail address?

You can get your e-mail address from Sefa YILDIRIMTEPE at the Directorate of Information Technology, Block A, System Administration Unit room. 

Who can get an e-mail address?

Students studying at university and the university staff can get an e-mail address.

What documents should I submit to get my e-mail address?

You are required to apply with an original copy of the document (such as a student ID or certificate for the semester you apply) that certify you are a staff member or student.

Can I get the e-mail address without coming to the university?

You are required to apply in person with an original copy of the document (such as a student ID or certificate for the semester you apply) that certify you are a staff member or student.

Can I get to choose my own e-mail address?

Your address will be designated as the initial of your first name and your surname in full. If this e-mail address has been given to somebody else before, your e-mail address will be determined in line with that.

What should I do if I forget my e-mail password?
You are required to apply in person with a document showing your ID to the place where you received your e-mail addrsss in the first place. 

How can I access the e-mail program?

You can access your e-mail through this link: https://portal.gtu.edu.tr 

The e-mail requests a username, which is the same as the incoming user information.

While I am changing my e-mail password, I receive “The present password does not meet the minimum security requirements. If you need help, please contact technical support." error. Why is that?

I do not receive the announcement e-mails I am supposed to receive, what should I do?

My computer has broken down, what am I supposed to do?

You need to apply to the technical service unit at the Directorate of Information Technology.

What should I do to have a software installed on my computer?

Only programmes licensed by the school are installed on your computer. You should apply to technical support in Foreign Languages building to have them installed.

 

Network:

What should I do for off-campus access?

My laptop, which connects to the internet at home, is not connecting on campus. Why?

The settings made by various programs that enable access to various foreign websites are incompatible with the GTU on-campus network infrastructure. Please try removing or deactivating the program and then try again.

What should I do if the network is very slow/not working?
