The aim of this unit is to facilitate the lives of our disabled students and staff by providing them with ease of access and necessary support and to progress towards becoming a barrier-free campus.

Gebze Technical University Disabled Students Unit was established with the decision of the Board of Directors of our university dated 14/09/2006 and session number 2006 / 28. Later on, “Gebze Technical University Disabled Students Unit” was restructured and replaced by “GTU Unit without Barriers”. It is carried out in accordance with the “Regulation on Disability Consultation and Coordination in Higher Education Institutions” dated 14/08/2010 and numbered 27672. A commission consisting of a chairman and members was organized. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut DURMUŞ is the Chairman of the Board of the GTU Unit without Barriers.
