About Undergraduate Education Programme: 1. With which departments can I do Double Major Programme (DMP)? Our students have the opportunity to do a DMP in the Department of Chemistry. We are continuing our efforts to expand the options for other departments.
2. With which departments can I do Minor Programme ? Our students have the opportunity to do Minor in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Bioengineering and Environmental Engineering.
3. Where can we apply when we encounter DMP / Minor course conflicts? When faced with such situations, it is recommended to consult Prof. Dr. Fatma İnci ÖZDEMİR, the coordinator of the DMP / Minor commission within our department.
4. What are the application and acceptance conditions for horizontal and vertical transfer? Detailed information can be obtained from the Horizontal and Vertical Transfer Directives of our university.
About the Graduate Education Programme: 1. What are the compulsory courses that must be taken during the course phase? FBE501 and Seminar courses must be taken at the course stage.
2. How many courses should be chosen in total and how should the course codes be distributed? Apart from FBE501 and Seminar courses, a total of 7 credit courses must be taken (total 21 credits). At least 4 of the 7 selected courses must be coded MBG (Major-Internal).
3. How should the distribution of the number of Turkish / English courses be? At least 7 (seven) courses + Seminar Course + Scientific Research Techniques and Publication Ethics course in the programme, at least 4 (four) of the credit courses must be taken from the programme in which the student is enrolled or from the courses offered in other programmes under the same department. At least 3 courses must be in English in the 30% English programme.
4. Is it compulsory to take courses outside the major? It is not compulsory to take courses outside the major, if it is to be taken, the number should be maximum 3.
About Internship Programme: 1. What should I do before directing my questions to the internship committee? Carefully review the internship page, internship directive and internship workflow chart and if there is something you do not understand, write directly to the group partner page via TEAMs (we kindly ask you not to use the chat section), you are expected to forward your request. NOTE: Students who are not in the relevant group will be invited to our group if they send a request.
2. Who does the insurance? Is insurance provided for voluntary internships? Insurance is provided by the dean's office on your behalf, primarily for compulsory internships, but also for voluntary internships (if there is sufficient funding). However, in case of insufficient funds, insurance for voluntary internships must be provided either by the place of internship or by the student himself/herself.
3. How should the days be for my voluntary internship to be counted? In order for the voluntary internship to be counted, the days can be made in multiples of 5 (for example, an 18-day internship will be officially accepted as 15 days) with a minimum of 15 days.
4. Is there an internship during summer school dates? Internship cannot be done during the summer school period in accordance with the internship directive. However, internship can be planned before and after the summer school in accordance with the academic calendar, and students in graduation status can do internship during the course period if they do not have lower courses.
5. When is the best internship period for MBG students? It is recommended to do their internships starting from the summer term following the end of the second year (4th course term) in order to get maximum efficiency.
6. Which platform should I send my questions about internship? Internship TEAMs of our department page is important for the benefit of people with the same question as you and for the enrichment of the frequently asked questions section. 7. How to fill in the *GSS login section? The certificate of eligibility is queried via e-government. If there is the phrase ‘can receive provision’ in the certificate of eligibility, no, if there is the phrase ‘provision could not be made’, yes should be marked.
8. Can I do voluntary internship without doing my compulsory internship? Based on past experiences, voluntary internships are not recommended before the completion of compulsory internships. |
