The 2024–2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony of Gebze Technical University was held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center in a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, with the participation of associate, undergraduate, and graduate students. During the ceremony, which all faculties attended, students of the Department of Economics also experienced the joy of graduation under the proud eyes of their families and faculty members.

The event began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by speeches from the official protocol. After the opening remarks, diplomas were awarded to graduate students. Then, plaques were presented to top-ranking undergraduate students in each department. In this context, our outstanding students from the Department of Economics made us proud with their success: Sude Şengör was named the top graduate, Merve Gümüşoğlu ranked second, and Cansel Uysal ranked third in the department. Their plaques were presented by GTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hacı Ali Mantar, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Hüseyin İnce, and Head of the Department of Economics Prof. Dr. Halit Yanıkkaya.

Departments were invited to the stage in order, and graduation certificates were handed out to students by their respective faculty members. This year, 44 students graduated from the Department of Economics, and each of them received their diplomas from the faculty, turning the moment into an unforgettable memory for both students and their families. Following the diploma ceremony, the event continued with the graduation oath and the cap-tossing celebration, marking an emotional and joyous conclusion. The ceremony ended with a group photo of graduates, their families, and academic staff.

As the Department of Economics at GTU, we wholeheartedly wish all our graduates success in the new chapter of their lives. We firmly believe that, with their knowledge, analytical thinking skills, and social awareness, they will become individuals who add value to both our country and the world.
