Welcome to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Gebze Technical University!
Materials Science and Engineering is a field that combines science and engineering, opening the doors to innovations in the engineering world through the application of scientific knowledge, and playing a critical role in societal development. Our department provides qualified education and research opportunities to students and researchers with an academic staff that conducts research following developing technologies and sciences both in Turkey and worldwide, along with well-equipped laboratories and industrial collaborations.
Our vision is to contribute to the development of sustainable technologies by promoting interdisciplinary approaches and to train future engineers as leading individuals who generate innovative solutions. Our department is structured around materials science, ceramic materials, polymers, metallurgy, and electronic materials. Our undergraduate and graduate programs integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience in both fundamental materials science and areas such as energy, nanotechnology, and advanced engineering materials.
The experimental and theoretical scientific studies conducted in our department are carried out with projects from both domestic and international sources, allowing for the training of new researchers and maintaining continuous contact with researchers from outside. Our department, which aims for continuous development in scientific studies, is open to students and researchers who wish to build the technologies of the future together.
