As a result of the rapid development of digital computers and the evolution of software technology, computers have become an indispensable element of our daily lives. The growing applications and the conveniences they bring increase the need for qualified personnel in this field. As a result, computer engineering based on information technologies maintains its place at the top of the rising favorite professions.

An engineer should always be innovative and dynamic, think and imagine differently, not standardly, and search for ways to realize their dreams. In this context, it can be said that computer engineering is the field where you can realize your innovative ideas in the fastest way possible.

The aims and objectives of our department are summarized below.

Research: GTU Computer Engineering Department conducts academic and technological research on computer technologies and applications, one of the most important development areas of the modern world.

Education/Training: Our department aims to train computer engineers and researchers who are well-equipped, creative and productive in basic engineering, computer and information systems, and who have the potential to shape the information age we are in. Our main statement can be summarized as "To train engineers who are not job seekers but also those who can establish businesses".

Our goal as a department is to train engineers and researchers who are sought after globally in their fields, using our qualified academicians, rapidly developing research and teaching infrastructure, in cooperation with industry and government institutions, and to be able to direct academic studies in the field of computer engineering with our scientific studies.

In the theoretical platform, emphasis is given to topics such as algorithms, language structure, artificial intelligence, cyber security and encryption, and in the application platform, client-server systems, electronic commerce, databases, software development, interface design, security applications, system design, virtual reality process control.

In our department, there are double major, minor, opportunities, as well as long-term internship and part-time job opportunities in IT sector companies in our region. Our qualified faculty members will help you both face-to-face and online. Thus, our students at every stage can prepare themselves for business life with theoretical as well as practical studies. As well as having the opportunity to find a job before graduating, engineers are provided with the infrastructure to establish their own businesses by turning their original ideas into projects.
