Things to do after your thesis defence

 

AFTER THE MASTER'S THESIS DEFENSE EXAM

> 1 Piece FR-0105 YL-DR Joint Jury Report: 1 copy of the report that was successful in the thesis defense exam or corrected must be submitted to the Department within 3 days following the exam. The report must be submitted to the Institute via EBYS by the Department.

 

The student whose thesis is decided to be corrected is given 3 (three) months to correct the thesis with the decision of the Institute Administrative Board. After making the corrections, he/she submits the thesis to his/her advisor and the jury members and defends the thesis again in front of the same jury within 3 months at the latest. (Documents before the thesis defence will not be re-issued.)

The Joint Jury Report issued after the thesis defence must be submitted to the Head of the Department within 3 days following the thesis defence. The Joint Jury Report must be submitted to the Graduate School via EBYS by the Department Head. The date and number of the first Board of Directors meeting at which the jury was formed should be written in the Meeting Information section of the joint jury report.  https://www.gtu.edu.tr/icerik/263/21497/display.aspx

 

The student must complete the submission of hardcover theses and documents within 1 month following the thesis defense exam. Upon request, the thesis may request an additional period of 1 month from the Institute for submission.

 

FOR THE THESIS SUBMISSION PROCESS TO THE INSTITUTE AFTER THE INSTITUTE CONFIRMS THE APPROPRIATENESS OF THESIS WRITING;

 

> 1 Piece FR-0107 YL-DR Thesis Writing Suitability Report: After the thesis prepared according to thesis writing guide is approved by the relevant Department Thesis Control Officer, the thesis is sent to the Institute officer (m.cevik@gtu.edu.tr) with a copy of the Thesis Writing Conformity Report Word or PDF format for final check. Click here for the Department Thesis Control Officer.

 

*Pay attention to the fact that the thesis topic title is the same as the title on the thesis cover.

 

> 1 Piece FR-0175-Graduate Related Cut-off Form: An e-mail (ogrenci@gtu.edu.tr) requesting the start of the online attached cut-off process should be sent to the Office of Student Affairs for graduation. Approval is given after filling in the Graduate Information System (https://obs.gtu.edu.tr/oibs/kariyer/ login.aspx). (Student Affairs Department) The printout of the relevant page should be added by following the approval from all units. (The approval of the Graduate Education Institute is made after the completion of all the documents and the graduation decision of the Board of Directors).

 

> 2 Pieces FR-0118 YL Jury Approval Form: (IMPORTANT CLICK) 1 copy of the jury members should be delivered to the Institute with the wet signature. Writing the titles of faculty members on the Jury Approval Page (Ex: Dr. Lecturer. Member .... / Assoc. Dr.... / Prof. Dr....) In English Theses (Ex: Assist. Prof. Dr. .... / Assoc. Prof. Dr. .... / Prof. Dr....)

 

The other 1 copy will be placed in the Hardcover Theses, and the Institute Approval part at the bottom of the page must be left blank. Click here to check the Departments and Program Names on the Jury Approval Page.

 

FR-0106 YL-DR Thesis Personal Report: The faculty member in charge of the Thesis Defense Jury is issued if they wish.

 

> 1 Price Thesis Data Entry Form: By logging in to the YÖK National Thesis Center with the e-government password, the form is printed out and submitted with the student signature (While filling out the form, the "Scientific Branch" should be left blank).

* CD: The reduced version of the thesis cover should be written on the outer covers and the YÖK reference number should be written on the CD. In the CD content; An uncompressed, unencrypted and single PDF file should be saved as the final version of the thesis.

 

If images, maps, computer programs, images or sound recordings are used in the thesis, these files should be converted into a single file with the reference number using the compression program and saved on a CD containing the reference number (referansno.RAR).

 

> 1 Piece Catalog Table In order to create a catalog, the relevant sample word table must be filled out and the printout must be submitted to the Institute together with the thesis submitted documents and sent to lee@gtu.edu.tr and m.cevik@gtu.edu.tr e-mail addresses as a single page.

 

> * You must leave the thesis number blank. The thesis number will be entered by the Institute after the approval of YÖK.

 

> 1 Piece FR-0176 YL-DR Hardcover Thesis Submission Form for Graduation

 

Graduation documents are submitted to the first Board of Directors to be held from the date of submission to the Institute. Graduation decision is taken at the Board of Directors. The decision is notified to the Head of the Department and the Registrar's Office. It is published on the web page of the Registrar's Office under the heading of Graduate School of Graduate Education Students with Diploma Ready.

 

AFTER THE DOCTORAL THESIS DEFENSE EXAM
