Family Health Center

Article 34(1) of the Regulation on Family Medicine Implementation , which has been prepared based on  Article 8 of the Family Medicine Law No. 5258 dated November 24, 2004 ,   states that: “For family medicine field training, training family health centers or training family medicine units may be established by educational institutions, in accordance with the population criteria stipulated in the contract made between the Public Hospitals Administration of the Republic of Türkiye or University Rectorates that provide family medicine specialty training and the Institution. The location of these units shall be determined upon the request of the educational institution, the favorable opinion of the Directorate, and the approval of the Institution. The number of units shall be determined based on the number of residents and approved by the Institution. If the number of residents in the educational institution is high, more than one training family health center affiliated with the same educational institution may be established with the favorable opinion of the Directorate and the approval of the Institution.” In accordance with this provision, the “GTU Family Health Center”, which opened in April 2016 following the contract signed with the Family Health Center, continues to operate and has been relocated to the newly constructed Family Health Center (ASM) Building opposite the Main Security Entrance of GTU North Campus as of August 25, 2023.
