ÖSYM Exams Coordination Office

 

The Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) was established on 19 November 1974 by the Interuniversity Board in accordance with Article 52 of the Universities Law No. 1750, under the name Interuniversity Student Selection and Placement Center. With the Higher Education Law No. 2547, which came into force in 1981, it was incorporated into the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and adopted its current name, Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).


In accordance with the principles set by the Council of Higher Education, the ÖSYM is responsible for preparing and administering examinations for admission to higher education institutions, evaluating the results in consideration of applicants’ preferences, placing candidates in higher education institutions accordingly, and conducting related research and services.


The Presidency of the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center is a public legal entity with administrative and financial autonomy, connected to the Council of Higher Education, with its headquarters in Ankara and funded by a special budget, authorized to carry out the duties and exercise the powers granted by Law No. 6114 and other relevant legislation.In line with the applicable laws, our primary goal as the Examination Center Administration is to conduct and oversee ÖSYM examinations in Gebze in full compliance with the established regulations.
