Services Provided by the Sports Branch

• Creation of sports venues enabling university students to carry out sports activities
• Allocation of fields and indoor facilities for relevant sports branches
• Provision of sports materials and equipment such as tracksuits, uniforms, balls, and first-aid kits
• Organization of tournaments for students and staff
• Assignment of sports personnel including field staff, referees, observers, medical staff, and trainers with the Directorate’s approval
• Preparation and participation of university teams in competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation
• Organization of university sports festivals
• Collaboration with external sports bodies such as Provincial and District Directorates of Youth and Sports, clubs, and organizations for field events and training matches
• Maintenance and accessibility of sports facilities ensuring proper operation and broad usability
• Central coordination of sports facilities and staff for organized planning and management of all activities

W ithin our Directorate, there are 3 artificial turf football fields, 1 volleyball court, 1 basketball court, 1 tennis court, 1 indoor swimming pool (semi-Olympic, including a sauna), 1 fitness center, and 1 indoor sports hall for table tennis, Pilates, dance, martial arts, rowing, and yoga.

Within the Rental Service, there are 4 tennis courts available.

The “Gebze Technical University Operating Directive on Sports Facilities” (Form No. YÖ-0073), which entered into force with the decision of our University Senate dated October 7, 2020, and numbered 2020/19-02, was prepared in accordance with Article 47 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the Implementation Regulation of the Medical, Social, Health, Culture, and Sports Affairs Directorate. This directive aims to operate the sports facilities of Gebze Technical University for educational, social, cultural, and athletic purposes, and to provide students, staff, and their relatives with the opportunity to engage in sports under healthy living conditions.

The indoor sports activities organized by the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports and held among our university’s faculty, institute students, academic and administrative staff, as well as the Türkiye Inter-University Sports Activities and National Sports Events, are carried out in this facility.

AHMET AYHAN INDOOR SPORTS HALL

SEMI-OLYMPIC INDOOR SWIMMING POOL AND FITNESS SERVICES

Our pool, which opened on September 25, 2017, under the auspices of our Rectorate, has been available for use by our students, staff, and guests since that date.

The indoor swimming pool located on our university campus is semi-Olympic standard, measuring 25 meters long, 16 meters wide, 2.10 meters deep, and consisting of 6 lanes. In the same area, there is also a training pool measuring 16 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 98 cm deep.

Hygiene tests are conducted regularly every day. The Fitness Center, located within our university's Semi-Olympic Indoor Swimming Pool Building, opened on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. The schedule and price list can be found below. For detailed information, please contact the numbers below.
