August 13, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations — The GTU Kılavuz WaterWings Team ranked second in Europe in the technical evaluation stage of the 2026 Airbus Sloshing Rocket Workshop, organized by Airbus and EUROAVIA, and qualified for the final stage in Rzeszów, Poland.
Major Achievement at the 2026 Airbus Sloshing Rocket Workshop The Kılavuz WaterWings Team, operating under the Aerospace Club of Gebze Technical University (GTU), has achieved a significant result in the 2026 Airbus Sloshing Rocket Workshop (ASRW), an international competition organized by Airbus in collaboration with EUROAVIA.
Advances to the Finals Among 40 Teams Successfully completing the technical evaluation process, which brought together 40 selected teams from across Europe, the GTU team ranked second overall and qualified for the final stage of the competition in Rzeszów, Poland.
Led by Team Captain Deniz Güler and consisting of Burak Akçay, Kerim Selim Turan, Birnur Sultan Haskol, Yağmur Akın, and Mert Tuna Albayrak, the Kılavuz WaterWings Team will represent Gebze Technical University and Türkiye at the event to be held in Rzeszów, Poland, from August 17 to 23, 2026. |
