July 22, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations — The Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Engineering (English-Medium Instruction) at Gebze Technical University (GTU) has extended its MÜDEK accreditation through 2029 following a successful evaluation, once again reaffirming its internationally recognized quality.
Quality in Education and Certified Standards The English-Medium Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Gebze Technical University (GTU) has successfully renewed its accreditation following the 2025–2026 interim report evaluation conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK).
In accordance with the decision of the MÜDEK Engineering Programs Accreditation Board (MAK), the program's accreditation, which had previously been valid until September 30, 2026, has been extended for an additional three years, through September 30, 2029, following a comprehensive evaluation.
Global Recognition: EUR-ACE Label In addition to this achievement, the English-Medium Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Engineering has been awarded the EUR-ACE Label, valid from September 30, 2026, to September 30, 2029. This internationally recognized quality label certifies the program's compliance with European higher education quality standards while also significantly enhancing the international recognition of its graduates.
The decision by MÜDEK serves as concrete evidence that GTU's English-Medium Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Engineering successfully meets national and international accreditation standards through its high-quality education, commitment to continuous improvement, and academic excellence.
Rector's Remarks Commenting on the achievement, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar stated that the decision reflects the university's quality-oriented vision:
"The extension of our English-Medium Computer Engineering Bachelor's Degree Program's MÜDEK accreditation through 2029 and its international recognition through the EUR-ACE Label are strong indicators of our university's commitment to quality-oriented education. I congratulate all of our academic and administrative staff, students, and stakeholders whose dedication made this achievement possible."
Sustainable Success in the Faculty of Engineering The Departments of Electronics Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Chemical Engineering within GTU's Faculty of Engineering had previously been granted MÜDEK accreditation. With the renewal of the accreditation for the English-Medium Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Engineering, the faculty has further reinforced its commitment to maintaining high educational standards and a quality-oriented approach.
Commenting on this achievement, Prof. Yusuf Sinan Akgül, Dean of the GTU Faculty of Engineering, said: "Currently, four of the ten departments within the Faculty of Engineering at Gebze Technical University are accredited by MÜDEK. Our remaining six departments, which are relatively new, have now graduated a sufficient number of engineers to meet the eligibility requirements for MÜDEK accreditation. The applications of these departments are currently under review, and we aim for all of our departments to obtain accreditation labels within the next few months." |
