An advanced mathematics research project led by Büşra Karadeniz-Şen from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science at Gebze Technical University (GTU), has been selected for funding under the TÜBİTAK 1002-A Rapid Support Module. Titled "Reconstruction of the Resolution Graph for Normal Surface Singularities via Jet-Theoretic Methods," the project aims to reconstruct the resolution graph of the minimal resolution of normal surface singularities using finite data obtained from jet schemes.
Within the scope of the research, the project seeks to develop a constructive algorithmic method that identifies the node and edge structure of the resolution graph by analyzing valuation vectors arising at an appropriate jet level. The proposed approach will be validated on selected surface singularities, demonstrating the applicability of jet-theoretic methods as an effective computational tool in resolution theory.
Upon successful completion, the project is expected to provide a clearer understanding of the geometric structure of surface singularities and make tangible contributions to contemporary mathematical research on their classification. |
