Number of Certified First Aiders at GTU Reaches 103

— A certified first aid training program organized at Gebze Technical University (GTU) was successfully completed, further strengthening the university's culture of safety and preparedness.

— With the latest training sessions, the number of certified first aiders across the campus has reached 103.

— The training was delivered by instructors from the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Health in accordance with the First Aid Regulation.

 

Gebze Technical University (GTU) continues to strengthen its vision of creating a sustainable and safe campus environment through the initiatives of its Disaster and Emergency Management Division. As part of the First Aid Regulation, the university's Certified Basic First Aid Training and First Aid Refresher Training programs for academic and administrative staff were successfully completed.

 

The program, held at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center Seminar Hall, aimed to enhance the university's emergency response capacity and further strengthen institutional preparedness across the campus.

 

Comprehensive Training Program for Two Participant Groups

Delivered by certified instructors from the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Health, the training combined theoretical instruction with extensive hands-on practice. The program was conducted in two stages.

 

Twenty staff members participating in the Certified Basic First Aid Training successfully completed an intensive two-day (16-hour) program. Following written and practical exams, all participants qualified as certified first aiders.

 

In addition, 29 staff members whose first aider certificates had reached the end of their three-year validity period attended a one-day (8-hour) First Aid Refresher Training. Upon successful completion, the validity of their certificates was renewed for another three years in accordance with the requirements of the First Aid Regulation.

 

Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar Congratulates Participants

At the certificate presentation ceremony held for the participants who successfully completed the training, certificates were presented by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar.

 

Speaking during the ceremony, Rector Mantar emphasized the vital role of first aid in saving lives. He noted that ensuring every member of the university community is equipped with first aid knowledge is of critical importance for campus safety and congratulated all academic and administrative staff for their commitment and successful completion of the program.
