Organized through the collaboration of the Gebze Technical University Department of Bioengineering and the GTU Bioengineering Society (GTU BIOS), the V. Bioengineering Graduation Days turned into a comprehensive scientific gathering where students shared both their academic achievements and graduation excitement. Held on May 21, 2026 at the GTU Congress and Cultural Center, the event brought together students’ graduation enthusiasm and scientific output.

“Students’ Social and Scientific Contributions Add Value to Our University”

The opening speeches of the event were delivered by GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Mahmut Durmuş and GTU BIOS Academic Advisor Prof. Dr. Barış Binay. In their speeches, the speakers emphasized that, alongside the academic achievements of graduating students, their active involvement in social and scientific activities plays a significant role in the university’s institutional identity and development.

As part of the event, many graduating students, including participants from different universities, had the opportunity to present the graduation theses they had prepared throughout their undergraduate studies in the form of oral or poster presentations. During the event, which followed an intensive scientific format, approximately 50 graduating students successfully completed their oral presentations, while nearly 80 poster presentations were exhibited in the foyer area for participants and academics to examine.

Opening its doors for the fifth time this year, the GTU Bioengineering Graduation Days once again successfully demonstrated Gebze Technical University’s research- and education-oriented vision by enabling students to share their scientific work and establish meaningful connections with the professional academic community.
