GTU Joins Europe’s Major Battery Network BEPA

— Gebze Technical University (GTU) has joined Europe’s prestigious battery research network BEPA through the initiative of Prof. Rezan Demir Çakan, a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

— GTU will take a more active role in research, development, and collaboration activities in the field of battery technologies across Europe.

 

Gebze Technical University (GTU) has joined one of Europe’s leading battery research and innovation platforms, the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA), through the efforts of Prof. Rezan Demir Çakan from the Department of Chemical Engineering. The application, submitted within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2028 Support for Membership to the Networks, was evaluated and approved by the BEPA Executive Board.

 

Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) is a platform that brings together research and innovation activities across the battery value chain in Europe, sets technology priorities, and aims to strengthen collaboration in this field. The network works to enhance Europe’s competitiveness in battery technologies, accelerate the transfer of research outputs to industry, and establish a strong ecosystem among public and private stakeholders.

 

Through its BEPA membership, Gebze Technical University (GTU) will play a more active role in research, development, and collaborative activities in the field of battery technologies in Europe.

 

This membership application aims to strengthen GTU’s research capacity in battery technologies and energy storage, and to enhance its collaboration with European research networks.
