April 28, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Students from the Department of Bioengineering at GTU achieve second place in Türkiye at the Impacthon 2026 Green Sustainability Ideathon.
The Impacthon 2026 – Green Sustainability Ideathon, hosted by Marmara University and organized by the Green Economy and Sustainability Club on April 18–19, 2026, has concluded. The marathon, where innovative solutions focused on sustainability and impact competed, was notably marked by Gebze Technical University (GTU).
Alperen Said Bulut and Samet Başkaya, third-year students from the Department of Bioengineering at GTU’s Faculty of Engineering, developed their sustainability-oriented project during the intensive two-day marathon with their team, HemoTech. Throughout the event, the team refined their project with mentor feedback and advanced to present before the jury in the final stage.
Among 34 competing teams in this highly competitive event of innovative ideas, Team HemoTech has achieved a significant accomplishment by ranking second in Türkiye with their developed solution. |
