BAGEP Award Goes to GTU Academic

Assoc. Prof. Sevilay Demirkesen-Çakır, a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is awarded the 2026 BAGEP award granted by the Science Academy.

The results of the 2026 Young Scientists Award Program (BAGEP), conducted by the Science Academy to identify, support, and reward outstanding young academics, have been announced. Within the scope of this program, considered among the most prestigious academic awards in Türkiye, Assoc. Prof. Sevilay Demirkesen-Çakır, a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering at GTU’s Faculty of Engineering, has been deemed worthy of the award due to her high-quality academic work.

In her academic studies at GTU, Assoc. Prof. Sevilay Demirkesen-Çakır focuses on the modernization and efficiency of the construction sector.
