March 6, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Assoc. Prof. Ayten Koç, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science of Gebze Technical University (GTU), is awarded the Fulbright Academic Research Scholarship, one of the most prestigious international academic awards.
Under the project deemed eligible for support by the Turkish Fulbright Commission, Assoc. Prof. Koç will conduct her research in the United States during the 2026–2027 Academic Year. The study, to be carried out at the University of Oklahoma, is titled “On Spaces of Ideals of Leavitt Path Algebras.” The project will examine the topologies on the layers of filtrations of the ideal spaces of Leavitt path algebras.
This research project, which stands out in the field of mathematics for its theoretical depth, will make a significant contribution to GTU’s international academic collaborations and scientific visibility.
Assoc. Prof. Nursel Erey, also a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science of GTU, was awarded the same scholarship for the 2025–2026 period. By receiving this prestigious scholarship for two consecutive years, our university has achieved an important milestone. |
