March 6, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Ayten Gezici, PhD, a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at Gebze Technical University (GTU), is to conduct her scientific research at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2219 Program.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) continues to contribute to the global science ecosystem in line with its internationalization strategy and its identity as a “Research University.” In this context, Ayten Gezici, PhD, from the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science has been awarded support under the “2219 – International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program” conducted by TÜBİTAK.
International Academic CollaborationAs part of her postdoctoral research abroad, Ayten Gezici, PhD, will spend one year at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), one of the world’s most prestigious higher education institutions. Under the supervision of Prof. Melvin Leok, she will conduct research on the project titled “Discrete Locally Conformal Lagrangian Dynamics and Its Numerical Modeling.”
Interdisciplinary Vision and Knowledge SharingThe project is expected to contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary vision in the academic career of our academic and to establish a strong foundation for future internationally collaborative projects. Being at a globally leading institution such as UCSD carries strategic importance in terms of engaging with different research groups, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experience, and enabling active participation in international research networks. |
