February 20, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations A significant cooperation protocol aimed at disseminating science to wider segments of society is signed between Gebze Technical University and the İzmit District Directorate of National Education. Under the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program, the parties sign a mutual support protocol for the project titled “Discover, Protect, Design: İzmit Science Festival,” which is planned to be implemented as part of the program.
The protocol covers critical operational steps such as the promotion of the project, the assignment of workshop leaders and guides, and ethical committee approval processes. The festival, planned to be held in September 2026, aims to enable students to explore scientific processes and develop innovative designs.
The cooperation protocol was signed by Mahmut Durmuş, Vice-Rector of Gebze Technical University, and İhsan Özkan, District Director of National Education of İzmit. |
