Launch Event Held for NİTEM and the Green Transformation at GTU Teknopark

The launch ceremony of the “Qualified Technical Workforce Training and Employment Center (NİTEM)” project, implemented by Gebze Technical University (GTU) Technopark Inc. and supported by the East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA) under the Social Development Support Program (SOGEP), is held with broad participation. Held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the GTU Congress Center, the ceremony introduces to the public a strategic employment model designed to accelerate the technological and green transformation of industry.

 

As part of the modern hands-on training workshop that has been established within the scope of the project and equipped with a CNC Vertical Machining Center, 3D printers, and precision measurement devices, the center will train specialists in critical fields such as Mechanical Technical Drawing, Manufacturing Methods, Quality Control, and Carbon Footprint Management.

 

Qualified Employment and Green Transformation Era in Industry

Following a presentation by Yusuf Çalık, General Manager of GTU Technopark, outlining the project’s technical infrastructure and future objectives, Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Rector of Gebze Technical University, delivered his address. In his speech, Rector Mantar emphasized that the core philosophy of the project is transforming knowledge into real-world value and stated that with NİTEM, the aim is not merely to provide training but to directly create employment. He noted that following an intensive 2,100-hour training program offered to 100 young engineers, at least 40 percent of the participants are expected to be employed in regional industry.

Opening remarks were also delivered by Mustafa Çöpoğlu, Secretary General of MARKA, and Zinnur Büyükgöz, Mayor of Gebze.

 

Seven Innovative Companies Leading the Green Transformation

As part of the event, seven companies and their projects entitled to receive support under MARKA’s 2025 Green Transformation Technologies Accelerator Financial Support Program were introduced to the public. The supported companies are listed below.

MHRTEK Information Systems: An AI-based optimization platform for energy efficiency in manufacturing

Bridgesoft R&D Software and Agricultural Machinery: An AI-based spot spraying system for agricultural enterprises

Omni Con Consultancy: A sustainability and carbon footprint reporting software program

Agromini Agricultural Systems: AI-supported irrigation and fertilization automation for precision agriculture

Defimec Blockchain Technologies: A blockchain-based carbon registry platform integrated with municipalities

Mersa Technology Consultancy: A solar-powered, automated vertical farming kit

 

Certificates of Support Presented by Officials

Support certificates were personally presented by regional officials to entrepreneurs contributing to the technological development of the project and the region. The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, Rector of Gebze Technical University; Mustafa Çöpoğlu, Secretary General of the East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA); Zinnur Büyükgöz, Mayor of Gebze; Hüseyin Sınırcı, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology of Kocaeli; İbrahim Ustaömer, Director of KOSGEB Kocaeli; Abdurrahman Aslantaş, President of the Gebze Chamber of Commerce; and Prof. Mehmet Göktürk, Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of GTU Technopark.

 

A Technology Gathering With Broad Participation
