Under the signed agreement, the parties will carry out joint projects in sectors that are critical to Türkiye’s technological independence. The collaboration will focus on the development of high value-added products and services in areas such as sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, transportation, aviation, rail systems, and digital transformation.

Visit to the Laboratories of the Institute of Biotechnology and R&D Greenhouse

Prior to the signing ceremony, the ICI Technology delegation visited the Institute of Biotechnology at GTU, one of the primary application areas of the collaboration. Accompanied by Asst. Prof. Ümit Barış Kutman, Deputy Director of the Institute of Biotechnology, the delegation toured the institute’s laboratories and R&D greenhouse and received detailed information about ongoing research activities. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase project implementation areas, particularly in agricultural biotechnology and environmental technologies.

Enhanced Collaboration in Entrepreneurship and Education

In accordance with the protocol, entrepreneurs operating within GTU’s incubation centers will gain access to ICI Technology’s technical infrastructure. Additionally, joint training activities will be organized through the newly established ICI Academy, and knowledge transfer will be accelerated through the mutual sharing of expert networks.

Transforming Knowledge Into Economic Value

Speaking at the signing ceremony, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Kenan Işık, Chairman of the Board of ICI Technology, emphasized that this protocol marks the first step of a long-term partnership built on strong institutional foundations. Spearheaded by the Institute of Biotechnology, the collaboration will activate direct support mechanisms to facilitate the integration of academic expertise into industry and to connect innovative ventures with investors.
