February 12, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Coordinated by the Sustainability Office and organized in collaboration with Singer, the Sustainable Sewing Workshop is successfully held on February 3, 2026. The event takes place in two sessions at the Environmental Engineering Seminar Hall of Gebze Technical University. During the workshop, participants learn basic and straight stitching techniques and apply their skills by sewing their own tote bags.
As part of the workshop, attendees gained hands-on experience in sustainable fashion practices while raising awareness about environmentally friendly production processes. The event provided participants with the opportunity to directly engage with applications that support a sustainable approach to fashion and conscious consumption.
With a total of 30 participants, the workshop aimed both to enhance practical skills and to promote responsible consumption habits. The Sustainability Office stated that it will continue to organize activities that foster awareness of eco-friendly production and sustainable living practices, and extended its thanks to the Singer team and all participants for their valuable contributions. |
