A Night Full of Music at GTU

The Gebze Technical University Turkish Classical Music Choir offers music lovers an unforgettable evening with a magnificent concert featuring one of the leading figures of Turkish music, Selami Şahin.

As part of its traditional concert series, the Gebze Technical University (GTU) Turkish Classical Music Choir hosted a legendary figure this year. Held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the White Hall of the GTU Congress and Cultural Center, the concert themed “Songs of Selami Şahin” attracted great interest from the university staff, students, and local residents.

Under the direction of TRT Singer and Conductor Seda Gökkadar, the GTU Turkish Classical Music Choir masterfully performed Selami Şahin’s timeless works. Later in the evening, the renowned musician Selami Şahin took the stage as a guest performer and sang his most beloved songs together with the choir. His performance was met with a standing ovation from the audience.

Open to the Public and Well Attended

Organized as a free and public event within the scope of the university’s social and cultural activities, the concert filled the White Hall to capacity. In line with GTU’s vision of preserving cultural heritage and bringing arts together with society, the audience embarked on a nostalgic journey through the master composer’s works. At the end of the program, a plaque of appreciation was presented to the guest musician Selami Şahin in recognition of his contributions to the evening.
