January 28, 2026 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations According to the 2025 data announced by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE), Gebze Technical University (GTU) proves its scientific competence by ranking among Türkiye’s most successful higher education institutions in the employment of qualified researchers.
Based on the latest data shared by YÖK, under Article 46 (Ek-46), which enables the recruitment of qualified human resources from outside the university, GTU has become one of the universities receiving the highest number of applications and assigning the largest number of researchers. This employment initiative, concentrated in strategic fields such as engineering, physics, chemistry, and biology, is seen as a concrete outcome of the university’s R&D-oriented growth strategy.
In addition, under Article 34 (Ek-34), which allows postdoctoral researchers to take part in R&D and design projects, GTU also stands out among the institutions making the highest contribution to Türkiye’s scientific ecosystem.
Commenting on the matter, Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, PhD, Rector of Gebze Technical University, emphasized that GTU continues to pursue its mission of being a “Research University” with determination. Rector Prof. Mantar stated:
“With its strong laboratory infrastructure and close integration with industry, our university continues to be a center of attraction for qualified researchers. Being one of the universities that most effectively utilize the employment models offered by the CoHE is proof that we combine academic depth with strong application capacity in related fields. We will further elevate our pioneering role in engineering and fundamental sciences with these valuable scientists joining our institution. Our goal is not only to produce knowledge, but also to transform this knowledge into high value-added technologies, thereby providing the strongest support for our country’s National Technology Initiative.”
