GTU hosts a strategic collaboration meeting with the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan.
Gebze Technical University (GTU) hosted a senior-level delegation from the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting held on January 22, 2026, discussions focused on strengthening academia–industry collaboration in the defense industry, joint R&D initiatives, and technology transfer.
The meeting emphasized the implementation of project-based collaborations grounded in mutual know-how sharing between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, the establishment of joint training and internship programs for students, and the development of a qualified human resource base. Through these efforts, the training of students in the fields of defense, sensors, simulation, and engineering, as well as their integration into employment, is intended.
At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of GTU and the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan reached a consensus on building a sustainable defense industry and technology ecosystem, agreeing to take concrete project and educational steps in the short term. |
