In response to a book support request submitted to the Social Impact Coordination Office of Gebze Technical University (GTU), a book support initiative is carried out for Mükerrem Tüfekçioğlu Imam Hatip Secondary School in Artuklu, MardinThe initiative is implemented under the guidance and coordination of GTU Social Impact Coordinator Prof. Meral Elçi, with the voluntary contributions of graduate students enrolled in the Management Master’s Program and the Management Information Systems Master’s Program, who actively take part in the process.

Under the project, reading materials were provided and delivered to the school for students aged 10–15, including children’s storybooks, the “100 Essential Works of Literature” series, fairy tales, Turkish classics, as well as science and science fiction stories. The books were distributed to the students by Turkish language teacher Mahsun Algan.

Through this initiative, direct educational support was provided for students in need of books, while university students were encouraged to actively participate in the process with a strong sense of voluntary involvement and social responsibility. The project is also significant in that it offers a replicable social impact model, implemented under the coordination of the Social Impact Coordination Office, for addressing similar requests in the future.
