December 30, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) hosts the TRMOTOR PowerCraft Engine School and its second-term graduation ceremony, a critical milestone in Türkiye’s aviation vision. As one of the most strategic examples of university–industry collaboration, the program sees engineers who will strengthen national engine projects receive their certificates.
The graduation ceremony of the TRMOTOR PowerCraft Engine School was held at the GTU Congress Center. The ceremony was attended by GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, TRMOTOR General Manager Prof. Osman Saim Dinç, GTU Vice-Rector Prof. Hasari Çelebi, GTU Aerospace Faculty Dean Prof. İlyas Kandemir, and TRMOTOR Subsystems Director Serdar Aksoy, PhD. With academics, TRMOTOR employees, industry representatives, and students in attendance, Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar and Prof. Osman Saim Dinç delivered speeches, while certificates were presented to successful participants by Prof. İlyas Kandemir and Serdar Aksoy, PhD.
Emphasis on “Qualified Human Capital”In his address, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar highlighted the university’s long-standing ties with the defense industry and underscored the following points: The Importance of the Ecosystem: Mantar noted that the GTU campus is not merely an educational space, but a vibrant technology ecosystem closely integrated with major defense industry stakeholders. Contribution to the National Technology Initiative: Mantar emphasized that, as a university, GTU is always open to programs that combine theoretical knowledge with the industry’s hands-on experience, and that graduates will directly serve Türkiye’s goal of full independence. University–Industry Synergy: Mantar also stated that this collaboration with TRMOTOR provides students and engineers not only with technical expertise but also with a broader vision.
Joining Forces for National ProjectsIn his remarks, TRMOTOR General Manager Prof. Osman Saim Dinç asserted that speed, modularity, and localization rates are of vital importance in the engine and subsystem development processes of platforms such as KAAN and HÜRJET. He recalled that the “PowerCraft” vision was designed to ensure that engineers gain mastery over every stage of engine design.
Certificates Presented to the Engine Experts of the FutureAt the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to engineers who successfully completed an intensive curriculum consisting of 17 different courses, covering topics from engine design to control systems. The certificates were presented by Serdar Aksoy, PhD, and Prof. İlyas Kandemir, as academics, TRMOTOR employees, and industry representatives witnessed the proud moments. |
