Gebze Technical University (GTU) Directorate of Library and Documentation implements Read & Publish agreements in order to increase its scientific output capacity and strengthen the international visibility of the university's researchers. With this strategic initiative, introduced as part of the 2026 database planning, GTU academics will gain significant advantages in the publication processes of the world’s most prestigious publishers.

A New Era of Open Access With Prestigious Publishers

Under the newly signed agreements, collaborations have been established with globally recognized publishers such as Oxford, Cambridge, Sage, Bentham Science, and the Royal Society. Within this framework, GTU researchers will be able to make their articles openly accessible worldwide while benefiting from substantial cost advantages:

Free Publication Rights: For publications within Oxford, Cambridge, and the Royal Society, authors will be able to publish Open Access directly without paying any Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Special Discount Rates: A 95% discount will be provided for publications in journals belonging to the Sage group.

Critical Importance of Using Institutional Email Addresses

To ensure automatic system recognition and allow researchers to benefit from these rights without any issues, technical details to be considered during the submission process have been shared. Academics are required to submit their manuscripts using their institutional email addresses ending with @gtu.edu.tr and to indicate the university’s name in its official format.

The lists of journals covered by the agreements and publisher-specific application conditions have been made available in the announcements section of the official website of the GTU Directorate of Library and Documentation. This step is expected to enable the university’s scientific outputs to reach wider audiences and to increase their citation potential.
