Gebze Technical University (GTU) holds a comprehensive “End-of-Semester Evaluation Meeting and Press Launch” reviewing the year-long efforts of student societies and project teams. The meeting, held with the participation of Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, emphasizes the critical role of student activities in the university’s educational vision.

Speaking at the meeting, GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar underlined the importance attached to student organizations, stating that these activities are monitored not as an administrative obligation but with the diligence of an academic division. Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar included the following statements in his speech:

"As the Rectorate and university administration, we evaluate student societies and teams at the level of a faculty and attach great importance to their coordination. These societies and teams you have formed account for approximately 35–40 percent of our university’s educational strength and contribution to education. I would like to particularly emphasize that we will continue to provide all our support throughout this process. I thank everyone who has contributed."

Full Support and Debriefing from Coordinators

Within the scope of the event, Student Societies Coordinator Prof. Fatma Yüksel and Project Teams Coordinator Prof. İlyas Kandemir summarized the activities carried out throughout the term through their presentations. Responding to questions from team and society representatives, the coordinators shared detailed information on new projects and support mechanisms to be implemented in the upcoming period. Finally, Çağatay Aktürk, GTU Press and Public Relations Manager, provided information on the visibility of society and team activities.

GTU’s Dynamic Social Ecosystem

The meeting, attended by the university’s senior administration as well as academic and administrative staff, has once again demonstrated that GTU is highly ambitious not only in technical education but also in social and project-based learning. Dozens of societies operating within GTU equip students with social skills such as leadership, crisis management, and teamwork, while technology teams elevate the GTU brand through their achievements on international platforms. The university administration continues to support the institutional communication processes and logistics needs of these societies at the highest level in order to ensure the sustainability of this ecosystem.
