December 24, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations An event organized under the coordination of the GTU Accessibility Division and the "Can Sağlığı" Student Society brings together students receiving special education and their families through the unifying power of art and sports.
A Multi-Stakeholder Vision of Social Responsibility In line with its vision of strengthening social inclusion, Gebze Technical University (GTU) has added another meaningful event to its portfolio of community engagement activities. Coordinated by the GTU Accessibility Division, and supported by the "Can Sağlığı" Student Society and students participating in the İŞKUR program under the Social Impact Coordination Office, the “Accessible Gathering” event was held at the Darıca BİL-SEV Special Education and Rehabilitation Center. The event brought together university students, individuals receiving special education, and their families around a shared spirit of solidarity.
The Unifying Power of Art and Sports Throughout the event, the rehabilitative and unifying power of art, music, and sports was highlighted. Participants enjoyed a variety of interactive and inclusive activities, including dancing accompanied by music, specially designed sports tracks, clown performances, face painting, and crown design. Thanks to these socially responsible contributions by university students, the event space was filled with joyful and memorable moments.
Raising Awareness for an Inclusive Society Beyond enhancing social interaction among students, the gathering has achieved strategic outcomes by fostering social awareness of disability and reinforcing a culture of learning together. As a valuable example of the GTU Accessibility Division's efforts to promote social inclusion, the program left lasting impressions of solidarity in the memories of all participants. |
