December 22, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations Gebze Technical University (GTU) joins forces with Teknopark Istanbul to strengthen technology-oriented entrepreneurship activities. Under the protocol signed within the scope of the HASAT 2025 program, teams conducting R&D at GTU will be able to benefit from Teknopark Istanbul’s extensive ecosystem.
Commenting on the protocol, Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar stated that the university is no longer merely an institution that produces knowledge, but a hub that transforms this knowledge into economic value. Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar said: “We do not see our university as consisting only of classrooms; our university is a living, research-oriented ecosystem operating 24/7. Through the bridge we have built with Teknopark Istanbul, a mechanism can be established that will carry the ideas our entrepreneurs develop in laboratories, whom we see as research partners, into the global market. With this protocol, by making the most efficient use of the opportunities provided by our state, we will ensure that every micro-innovation emerging from within GTU is integrated into industry. In this way, our entrepreneurs will gain priority access to mentorship, infrastructure, and investment networks.”
Within the framework of the collaboration, entrepreneurs operating in incubation centers within GTU will gain direct access to Teknopark Istanbul’s investor networks and market development support. GTU Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar noted that this step would elevate university–industry collaboration in the region to a higher level. Through a process in which projects in the fields of defense industry, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity will be prioritized, university-based technology exports are planned to be increased. |
