December 19, 2025 - GTU Office of Press and Public Relations At the panel organized through the collaboration of Gebze Technical University (GTU) and the Çayırova Social Services Center, family communication and the role of mothers in child development are addressed from a scientific perspective.
A Social Awareness Gathering in Çayırova Within the scope of the “2025 Year of the Family,” a panel titled “Strong Family, Strong Future” was held through the collaboration of GTU Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (KUAM) and the Çayırova Social Services Center Directorate. Coordinated by the GTU Science Communication Office and the Çayırova District Directorate of National Education, the event took place on December 18, 2025, at the Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Cultural Center. The panel examined the importance of family communication and the decisive role of mothers in early childhood from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Scientific Data and Field Experience Combined Moderated by Prof. Fatma Yüksel, Director of the GTU Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center (KUAM), the panel brought together theoretical knowledge and field experience. Nergis Kasa-Güney, Director of the Social Services Center, shared insights from her fieldwork, while Assoc. Prof. Hanife Deniz Yurtseven, a faculty member of the GTU Department of Economics, evaluated the topic in light of academic data. During the question-and-answer session, an interactive environment was created with participants, raising awareness of family support mechanisms.
Academic Sharing With Broad Participation The program, implemented under the coordination of the Çayırova District Directorate of National Education, was attended by Recep Demir, District Director of National Education; Sadettin Arıkboğa, Deputy Mayor of Çayırova; Özgür Akgün, Director of the Çayırova District Public Library; as well as district officials, school administrators, teachers, and parents. This qualified initiative was recorded as an important step in strengthening the university’s strategic ties with public institutions in line with its vision of creating social impact. |
