International Cultures Meet at GTU’s Table

A traditional international student gathering is held at Gebze Technical University (GTU), a symbol of cultural diversity. GTU hosts the meaningful event aiming to support international students’ adaptation to campus life and strengthening their sense of belonging.

Organized by the GTU International Student Coordination Office, the breakfast program brought together the university administration and students from all around the world. On this traditional international student gathering day, which reflects GTU’s cultural diversity, undergraduate and graduate students from more than 65 different countries met with the GTU family.

A Dynamic Contribution to Research Strength

Hosted by Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar, the program was attended by the university’s senior administration, academics, and administrative staff. It was emphasized that the dynamic interaction fostered by cultural diversity, brought by students who constitute GTU’s active research capacity as a research university, further strengthens the institution.

“You Are Voluntary Ambassadors of Peace”

In his address, Rector Prof. Hacı Ali Mantar drew attention to Türkiye’s goals for internationalization in higher education and stated:

“Türkiye being one of the countries hosting the highest number of international students today is a result of the value our state places on you. As Gebze Technical University, while we share our academic expertise with you, we also know that you enrich us with your own cultures. When you graduate, you will become not only scientists, but also Türkiye’s ambassadors of peace around the world.”

During the question-and-answer session, students had the opportunity to convey their requests and suggestions directly to the administration. The program concluded with a gift raffle and a family photo taken with the message "For a stronger GTU: towards success and impact, #SpreadYourWings".
